List Title
What is Hamilton Hill?
Hamilton Hill offers coaching and mentoring to help senior doctors and other NHS professionals explore purposeful career transitions in their later careers. It also supports healthcare employers with workforce retention and change solutions.
Who is Hamilton Hill for?
It is designed for senior healthcare professionals who are later in their careers and considering leaving clinical practice, as well as healthcare organisations that want to retain their experience, protect patient care and improve workforce sustainability.
Which healthcare professionals does Hamilton Hill support?
Hamilton Hill was originally created for doctors thinking about leaving clinical practice. I soon came to realise that many senior clinicians and other experienced healthcare professionals are seeking careers with more purpose and social impact, especially those nearing retirement. This is where Encore Career Coaching comes in.
What is an Encore Career?
An encore career is a new adventure in the second half of your working life, where you live and work to your values with purpose and social impact. It was first described by Marc Freedman in his 2007 book Encore: Finding Work That Matters in the Second Half of Life.
How is an Encore Career different to a Portfolio Career?
An encore career is specifically about finding your why and what next later in your professional life. Portfolio careers are how you structure the work at any stage.
What makes Hamilton Hill different?
Hamilton Hill's approach is rooted in person-centred change, with a focus on “people, not problems,” and on helping professionals and organisations create purposeful futures.
Does Hamilton Hill offer services to organisations?
Yes. In fact, this is where Hamilton Hill began. Leading projects to improve palliative care services in the UK and internationally made me aware of the importance of retaining the experienced, senior health workforce. I developed a design thinking workshop specifically for healthcare organisations, to help them engage established clinicians and develop retention solutions.
